July 8th 2:03AM, ROUND 1 STARTS:
The prompt for this round is "Balancing Act" and is focuses on the formatting of your entries. Your R3 entry should be composed of two separate but related parts. They should be roughly equal in size/complexity.  I am still waiting on a reply from the mods on whether we can make our entries into 3 separated parts, I will keep ya'll posted. For this round I suggest that people go into teams of two if they feel comfortable doing so and work together and balance each other out as well as you entry. Brainstorming on the team chat is always a good idea too!

July 14th Round 3 Entry Check-In:
I (Basil) will be getting in contact with everyone so see how far along with the entry you are, if you've teamed up with anyone, and help out if I am able. This round's prompt is a little more vague and difficult then the others so dont be afraid to ask for help or brainstorm with teammates!!

July 18-20 Voting Period:
I will be making a Round 3 voting post for everyone on the community to post their submissions to, it will be member locked so if you're not logged in you will be unable to see it! June 18th is the deadline to have your submission completed by. The voting will once again be anonymous and the rules are the same as last time. If you would like to vote for a submission reply to it anonymously with a "+1"
to the comment containing the submission you wish to vote for.

July 21st 11:59PM (EDT) ROUND 3 ENDS:
At this point our new Palhoncho Basil (that is me) will send in our chosen submission to the mods and then we worry about everything else like the collab round as well as the bonus rounds and voting. Good luck to everyone, let's all work hard!!

For those of you who have not participated in Rounds 1 or 2, it is actually MANDATORY to participate in this round :(( I don't really like enforcing these sorta restriction type things but if you can please take some time to plan something out to submit it would be really great.

BONUS ROUND 3: RETRO GAMING
The 3rd Bonus Round has also started and the prompt this time is Retro Gaming. Participants are asked to create fanworks based on videogames/computergames that were released before the year 2000. Vikki has supplied us with a good list of old games which I will be placing under a cut at the end of this post for those of you who need a little help. These are straight up crossover fanworks so no characters playing DOOM from their home pc etc. Additionally, for this challenge we are allowed to submit fills based on our team's ship!!

hey everyone the second attendance period is here! i just got an email from the mods and they want to know who is active on our team

 since we all had a sort of good time with last week's movie night (well ok YMMV...) i decided to bring it back!
 
the second rudemary&thyme movie night will begin around 6 pm PST/ 9pm EST on June 10th (this Sunday) and ill be posting the link to my livestream channel in the team chat so make sure youre logged in to get it
 
we're going to watch an animated movie called A Monster In Paris and while i dont want to spoil it for anyone, as far as i can tell it contains a large anthropomorphic bug character so if that isnt your cup of tea you might want to sit this one out...

hopefully everyone has started thinking about what they want to do for the first round! the prompt is "gambling" which can be used metaphorically or literally, but must serve as the major theme of the submission. you can find a partner(s) within the team to work with or work by yourself. you can also brainstorm on the team chat, since we are all here to help out our teammates out and share ideas!

June 9 Round 1 Entry Check-In 1:
i will be contacting everyone on this day to see how far youve come along with your brainstorming and planning. you should have at least a basic idea of what you want to do by this date.

June 16 Round 1 Entry Check-In 2:

the second check-in will be to see how far along youve come with your work on your submission! you should be at least halfway done by this point.

June 20-22 Voting Period:
i will be making a Round 1 Voting post on the team community for everyone to post their submissions to so June 20th is the deadline to have your submission completed by. voting will be anonymous and the submission with the majority of votes will be chosen to represent our team in main round 1!

June 23 11:59 PM (EDT) ROUND 1 ENDS:
after we have our chosen submission the palhoncho (thats me!) will submit it to the mods. then all we can do is wait! ( u v u)

Hey everyone, Basil here to tell you that there is a MOVIE NIGHT TONIGHT

Now I know some of you have had school and stuff lately and so we dont get to see much of you so I think it'd be good to all get together in a livestream and just chat it up while movie watching!

I wanted to stream ghostbusters 1 and 2 but if anyone has any suggestions of what else we can watch then just drop a comment and ill try to get the movie. The movies I currently have on my hard drive are: Tokyo Godfathers, The Illusionist (animated), Persepolis, Summer Wars, REDLINE, Black Swan, Cencoroll, Ichi The Killer, and Tree of Palme. Tree of Palme will just make you angry though...

So if you plan on attending just drop a comment here that way I can sort of estimate how many people are coming, and if you have any movie suggestions tell me!

The first Team RudeMary & Thyme movie night will begin around 6pm PST/ 9pm EST, I'll be posting the livestream link inside the comm chat so keep vigilant you chatty animals. Lets all have fun!

[EDIT] bonus round 0 has been pushed back! it now opens on May 20th 11:59 PM (EDT) and closes on June 1st 11:59 PM (EDT)

if you aren't sure what bonus rounds entail here is an excerpt from the main info page:

The bonus rounds are there for MAXIMUM FUN. They're a chance to earn extra points by doing mini-prompts! There's no voting and no advance sign-ups/commitments. You can participate as long as you're on any team, including Team English.

What happens is this: every two weeks, a new bonus round will open (plus an extra one for the final session). You can fill it as much as you like until the two weeks are up. It is that simple!

By the way, we are trusting everybody to put at least a minimum amount of effort into each bonus round entry. This is one of those things which is highly impractical to police, and we would like to think that everyone is decent enough not to spam the bonus round prompts for points!

so basically more than one person can submit something, which hopefully means that everyone will submit something if they can! this will be a good way for us to warm up before the actual main rounds begin (the points are an added bonus!!)

there is pretty much no reason not to participate since you basically get points just for participating! so don't be shy and please give it your best shot (  u v u)/

also as far as i can tell the previous bonus rounds last year were centered around inter-team relations; i.e. creating content for teams other than your own

since there are seven bonus rounds in total it might be a good idea to take a look at the confirmed team list and pick out ones that you would want to make content for beforehand

i've noticed that since we aren't always online at the same time it's a little difficult for us to get to know each other better, so i decided to make this introduction post!

you can comment with your own introduction, but in case you're not sure what to write here are a few questions to get you started:
  1. how did you get into homestuck?
  2. how long have you been in the fandom?
  3. what other fandoms are you/have you been in?
  4. who is your favorite homestuck character(s)? favorite ships?
  5. what skill set are you bringing to the team? (ex: prose, poetry, art, music, pasta sculptures, etc.)
  6. do you have a piece of work that you are proud of and want to share?
oh also!! there are good to know too:
  • what is your time zone? (please give your universal time zone! here is a link if you're not sure what yours is)
  • what time/days are you usually available?
this is for ease of communication and so we can form collaborative groups with other teammates if that is your type of thing
